Promote a Sports Team - 4Ps (Promotion)
This engaging, hands-on marketing activity challenges students to develop a promotional campaign for a new local sports team. They can choose any sport and will create a marketing asset (poster, billboard, radio ad, TV commercial, or car/bus wrap) to promote their team. This activity provides an opportunity to apply marketing concepts, especially the 4Ps, with a focus on promotion.
This activity can be used as:
A standalone activity (10-15 minutes for creation, plus presentation & discussion).
A multi-lesson project (allowing for more than one promotional format).
A supplement to existing marketing lessons on branding and advertising.
What Students Will Learn
Through this activity, students will:
Understand the role of Promotion in a marketing strategy.
Apply marketing concepts (the 4Ps) to a real-world scenario.
Develop creative problem-solving and design skills.
Identify target audiences and how to reach them.
Improve teamwork, communication, and presentation skills.
Experiment with different promotional formats (visual, audio, and print).
